Among these unsung heroes was Mary Litynski, whose unwavering commitment and perseverance behind the scenes at M3AAWG and across the industry played a pivotal role in making the Internet safer for all of us.

To honor her legacy, M3AAWG established the annual Mary Litynski Award. This award celebrates the lifetime achievements of an individual who, like Mary, has made extraordinary and selfless contributions to online safety and security. Award Presentation at M3AAWG 63rd General Meeting

The prestigious Mary Litynski Award will be presented during our 63rd General Meeting, taking place February 17-20, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal. Award Criteria

To be considered, nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • The nominated person has made a significant contribution to reducing spam, fighting bots or malware, or safeguarding other aspects of online messaging over a significant period.
  • The person's work can be related to messaging on any platform, including mobile devices and social networks.
  • The person's work can be related to a particular country or it can be global in scope.
  • The nominated body of work can be technical, related to public policy, or be educational in nature. In the final analysis, end-users should be safer as a result of the endeavors.
  • The recognized work contributes to building and maintaining a trusted environment for online messaging.
